25th Anniversary Celebration

The Downtown Business Association (DBA) is having a party and you’re invited!

Twenty-five years ago, a group of downtown businesses petitioned the City of Red Deer to establish a BRZ. The Towne Centre Association kicked-off with a downtown BBQ celebration.
The DBA has been an advocate for business, worked to support, promote and beautify downtown and has been an active partner in programs and events that encourage downtown visitors. Now it’s time to celebrate our achievements and reflect on our past and thank everyone who has made a contribution!

Join us on Saturday, September 19 as we host a BBQ celebration with the Alexander Way Arts Festival. The activities and entertainment begin at 12 noon on 52nd avenue by Centennial Plaza Park between 47th and Alexander Way (48th Street) and includes a BBQ, music, art demonstrations, balloon artists, face painters, vendors and much more!

Celebrate Alberta Arts Days at the Alexander Way Arts Festival & Community BBQ hosted by the Downtown Business Association.

The Alexander Way Arts Festival is a Chase! Place in conjunction with the Red Deer Museum & Art Gallery (MAG)
Featuring 5 local artists - doing demonstrations of their work. Many vendors selling their wares, art groups and clubs, performances and much more! Something for everyone!

Join us on 52 Avenue by Centennial Park between 47th & Alexander Way (48th Street).

Earth Dance
September 26, 2009

Join us for the annual global festival celebrating peace, diversity and the environment. Earth Dance happenings range from demos, displays and merchandise specials to interactive art making, film and open-mike music events at many downtown locations.
At 3:30pm, a Community Peace Drum Circle and dancing will be held at City Hall Park. At 5pm sharp, Red Deer will join over 300 communities around the world in a non-denominational prayer for peace.
An EarthDance concert will be held this year at the Far Side Lounge, Red Deer College. Night at the Chelsea, Ranger Danger and the Danger Rangers, and the Rockablilly Roots Revue will be playing in support of this year’s EarthDance charity the Central Alberta Immigrant Youth Group. Doors open at 8pm, there is an $8 cover charge to get in.

3rd Annual CA Children's Festival
June 5 & 6 - Recreation Park

Join Jack Grunsky and Conrad Major Flap as they entertain kids of all ages during this two day annual event. Community organizations are setting up over 25 tents with activities for the entire family to participate in. This event goes rain or shine.

Artwalk Festival
Saturday, June 13 to June 20th
Artists-About-Town event will feature artists demonstrating their work and will continue throughout the week. Other highlights for the week include:
Thursday, June 18th - Artwalk Amble Gallery Tour, a guided visit to a number of the City's art galleries.
June 19th - Friday Night Films, a showcase of short independent works by students in RDC's Motion Picture Arts Program.
Saturday, June 20th - Artwalk Festival day, 9 - 5 in the Park. Art demonstrations, interactive activities and live music.
