Business Profile: Vietnamese Subs and Rolls

Tony Pham, owner of Vietnamese Subs and Rolls, opened the doors of his business in July of 2009 with a simple goal of creating a unique lunch option for downtown workers. It was an interesting choice for Tony, who recognized the calculated risk he was taking by operating an establishment with a somewhat unknown specialty, Vietnamese Subs. The risk has paid off for Tony so far, as he has created a location with a sought after dish, available at only one location in Red Deer - Vietnamese Subs and Rolls.
Any nervous feelings Tony had about offering such a unique item were quickly put to rest. In the first week of operating Vietnamese Subs and Rolls, Tony was getting a lot of attention from local radio stations. In mid afternoon on opening day, a customer burst into Vietnamese Subs and Roll, out of breath with a huge smile on his face. The customer went on to explain to Tony that he had heard about Vietnamese Subs and Rolls on the radio but did not hear the address, so he called the radio station, and ran downtown to get his sub. “I used to get these all the time in Calgary, you have no idea how much I have missed having Vietnamese Subs for lunch”. The customer then went on to thank Tony for opening his establishment. At that moment, Tony knew he had made the right decision.
Since opening his restaurant, Tony has noticed a steady increase in the number of customers, many of which are returning customers. Tony sees new customers every day, and many say they were referred by co-workers, friends and family.
Vietnamese Subs and Rolls targets downtown workers as their clientele, and is proud to offer a unique lunch option, made from all fresh ingredients. “We offer sit down restaurant quality food in a fast food environment”, explains Tony. “We only use fresh ingredients, and you can get lunch from us for under ten dollars”. In addition to the Vietnamese subs, Vietnamese Subs and Rolls also has Vietnamese Salad dishes and rice dishes. Tony is considering adding other Vietnamese dishes to his menu in the future, but for now is satisfied with keeping his growing customer base satisfied through a quality lunch option.
A Vietnamese Sub is different from the subs that we typically think about. With options such as lemongrass chicken, satay beef and more, as well as the assortment of vegetables, Tony’s Vietnamese Subs are one of a kind. It is a genuine Vietnamese dish on a sub, a great meal, at a very affordable price.
Vietnamese Subs and Rolls is located at 4911 50 Avenue. Tony and his wonderful staff invite everyone down to experience Vietnamese Sub and Rolls, a truly unique downtown eating experience.
