Intuition Massage and Pilates Clinic
Posted: Wednesday, May 4th 2011
Intuition Massage and Pilates Clinic has been open in our downtown since 2006, when Peggy Glasgo, owner and operator and STOTT Pilates Instructor, purchased Stephenson Muscle Therapy and Rehab Services and moved her business to Red Deer. Peggy had previously operated Intuition out of Medicine Hat for five years. Peggy is a classical dancer with a background in ballet and contemporary dance, which lead her to Pilates, yoga and fitness. This opened the door to personal training and instructing, which led Peggy to massage therapy, and opening her own Massage Therapy clinic, Intuition Massage and Pilates Clinic.
Peggy and her staff, consisting of eight other health and wellness enthusiasts with specialities love what they do because they get to help others while being social and physically active, while having the chance to share a wealth of knowledge while helping others to develop or maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Located in the historic old Eaton’s building at 4807 50th Avenue, the staff members of Intuition have a variety of specialties, including STOTT Pilates, hot and cold stone therapy, yoga, muscle energy therapy, therapeutic massage, dance, and more!
With a wide range of Pilates classes offered, Intuition has classes that will work for anyone, including introductory classes for beginners, weight loss classes, classes targeting specific areas of the body, prenatal Pilates, and even specialty classes such as golfers Pilates, men’s Pilates and Pilates for kids! Pilates in the Park will also be returning in July, with relaxing outdoor sessions in one of the beautiful downtown parks.
In addition to the Pilates classes offered by Peggy and her staff, Intuition is a registered massage therapy clinic, specializing in therapeutic and deep tissue massage, and featuring hot & cold stone massage, relaxation massage, trigger point massage, manual lymph drainage and laser therapy.
Intuition strives to be an educator and motivator in our community and to improve the quality of life of their clientele. They feel they can help their clients and our community achieve this through planting firm philosophies of quality not quantity, a confidence within the individual persons in our community to love who they are and who they can be, and to give the feeling of independence through education in a safe and supportive environment.
Intuition clients love the atmosphere provided by the Vancouver loft style clinic. The massage clinic and Pilates studios are completely separate, creating a private and unique environment that allows for relaxation and positivity during sessions.
Peggy is hoping to expand the massage clinic by diversifying and adding more practitioners to the clinic, such as chiropractic, acupuncture and physiotherapy specialists. She also hopes to expand the fitness studio by adding the TRX system, spin bikes and rebounders. In addition to these enhancements, Peggy is hoping to add an outdoor sports and recreation element to the business, including the returning Pilates in the Park, Yoga in the Park, trail rides, kayaking, and more. Peggy has also been working towards getting her certification in canine massage therapy, which will not be offered in the existing clinic, but will be an available service in time.
