Squashing the notion of run-of-the-mill hair salons, Crop Hair Boutique exploded onto the hairstyling scene in February 2009 with vibrancy and color. They are Central Alberta’s most unique salon destination, and approach their work with creativity, passion and a deeply instilled sense of service. Above all having a great time with everything we do. Owners Aaron and Katherine Bouchard took over an existing hair salon and transformed it into a bright and exciting, yet vintage and relaxed salon. Describing her salon, Katherine adds, “We are fresh and fun. [We are about] beautiful and natural hair.”
Aaron has been doing hair for over 15 years. After working in numerous salons across Canada it was finally time to return to his roots and open up his own shop in Red Deer. He was able to take the best of the training that he had received over the years and put it into practice in his own salon. It is an amazing experience for him to be able to share his interest and passion for hair with other stylists.
Crop Hair Boutique values uniqueness in the undeniable passion that the stylists have. They are incredible at their craft and their specialized knowledge drives them to do what they do. The 8 stylists of Crop are the cream of the crop, literally, with both enthusiasm and talent. What sets these stylists apart is their ability to blend quality service with personalized attention.
But what makes business worthwhile and fuels that effervescent passion are the clientele. Crop sees an extremely diverse clientele, everyone from the crazy-coloured Mohawk guy to the style your mom would wear. Katherine recalls a memorable client experience when thinking about her clients. “A couple wanted to see what the salon was like and they started chatting with the stylists. They sat down and got their hair done. It is great to see them comfortable and checking us out and having that great experience,” says Katherine.
Crop is committed to chair education, like teaching clients to style their own hair at home. They show clients how to use the tools and products to recreate that “straight out of the salon” look.
It is important for them to ensure that you know what products to use & how to use them to achieve amazing hair once you get home. It is very important that Crop clients not only leave the salon with great hair, but that they are able to re-create it each and every day at home!
They also have a strong commitment to our stylists education. Crop stylists attend numerous salon educational classes as well as the opportunity to travel to New York City to train with Bumble & Bumble.
Crop Hair Boutique is located in the heart of downtown at #1 4801 51 Ave. “We love downtown. We love the community, the buildings, the drive-by traffic, and being next to other local businesses.”
