Toys for Tickets a Success!

The City of Red Deer's annual Toys for Tickets program was a rousing success in 2010.  The program was held through November and into early December, and as usual, saw a number of toys given in lieu of paying parking tickets.

This year, 400 of the 3500 eligible tickets were paid by toy donation.  Items from puzzles to stuffed animals to hockey sticks to mP3 players were donated, a value totalling over $5800.  Many items donated were worth much more than the ticket itself.  The program is run as a partnership with the Christmas Bureau.
