Downtown Business Association Survey Results Revealed

In late 2010, the Downtown Business Association presented a survey to business owners, downtown workers and everyone else interested in the downtown. The survey was developed this survey to help set future directions of downtown developments and projects. Here are some of the results of this survey.

Since opening his practice in 1974, Dr. Garry Didrikson has been helping people take charge of their health. At that time, Garry was one of the few chiropractors in Red Deer, and was very pleased to move back to Red Deer after having an academic career that took him to Edmonton, Toronto, and to the United States. “Red Deer is home” claims Garry, he is an active volunteer and member of the community.
Roman Danylo Live! Performance Lineup Grows!

Red Deer native Neil Grahn will be sharing the stage with Canadian comedy star Roman Danylo, and local theatre troupe Against the Wall Theatre have been confirmed as performers in Danylo’s Improv Jam for the March 18th CentreFest fundraiser - Roman Danylo Live - at the Scott Block in Red Deer.

The Red Deer & District Community Foundation “Women of Excellence Awards Program” is a celebration of innovation, leadership, achievement and talent as demonstrated by women throughout Central Alberta!
Nominations for the 2011 Women of Excellence Awards Program are underway. Deadline for nominations is Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 4:00 pm. The 4th Annual Women of Excellence Awards Gala will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Capri Hotel.

The City has contracted perivale + taylor Consulting Inc. to conduct a review of crime prevention strategies and policing services in Red Deer and your opinions and ideas are an important part of this strategy.
We want to hear your ideas on how to make Red Deer a better place to live and how to keep Red Deer a safe community. Take this opportunity to fill out our short online survey to keep Red Deer a great place to live, work and play.

After 25 years of work as a safety specialist in the petrochemical industry, Laura Cadrin decided that she needed a change. Growing plants and flowers was always a joy of Laura’s, and she decided to make that her new career. After considering opening a greenhouse, she found her current location, and saw a perfect opportunity to open a floral design studio, La Petite Jaune Fleur.

Downtown Parking Reminder

One of the keys to a successful business in the downtown is parking. With street parking, numerous lots, and the addition of the Sorensen Station Parkade, the parking in the downtown can be described as plentiful. We would like to take this time to remind everyone that short term metered parking is essential to the success of the downtown and its businesses, so please ask your staff to use one of the many full day lots, or get a monthly pass to one of the numerous lots in the downtown area.
