Fiestaval Receives City Support

The Fiestaval latin festival will once again be held downtown on August 20, thanks to funding given by The City of Red Deer. The City decided on Tuesday that they will be giving the festival $15 000 to keep it going for another year. Last year's event was a huge success, as thousands came downtown to check out the amazing latin entertainment and delicious foods.

Fiestaval Red Deer is a free multicultural arts and entertainment festival highlighting the Latin American Culture. It is an opportunity to support Red Deer's Latin community while encouraging multiculturalism among all citizens of Red Deer. Central to its distinction is that Fiestaval Street Festival is a free, family-oriented alternative for celebrating multicultural arts and entertainment  Come down and take advantage of  the opportunity to experience Latin American arts, rhythms, and flavours. Fiestaval will showcase the culture of Red Deer's Latin community and the vitality of the various Latin American heritages. It will advocate cultural awareness and organize activities to enhance multiculturalism in Red Deer.

Downtown is Staying Open Later For You!

Through July and August, businesses will stay open on Wednesday nights until 7:30pm. These business will initially include: Great Strides, art & bean, Bistro on Gaetz, Hot Pot Studio, …comforts the sole, JAG Wear, and Rob Rae Clothiers.

So come to the Downtown Market on Wednesdays from 4-7 and stay and shop late downtown.
