Experience Downtown Art...
Downtown is haunted with ghosts. Eight bronze sculptures depicting figures from Red Deer's history stand on guard of our streets. Have a seat beside Reverend Gaetz. Many say he is a good listener and even replies on occasion. Look into the face of the one handed man that fights to control his team of horses and feel the power and energy of the 'Sound the Alarm' ghost. Stop to see our national headliner 'Francis the Pig' who turned the Downtown upside-down when he made it his home in 1990. Each has a story worth exploring.

When passing down Ross Street you can't miss the lone soldier that stands in the middle of Ross Street looking back at the restored train station as if he just returned home from war. This is Red Deer's cenotaph and war memorial. To the south of him, you will see an historic mural that replicates a parade photograph taken from that same location in 1912. Can you see which buildings are still here today?

Experience Downtown History...
Old is new again as Main Street Red Deer brings streets to life with history and creates an experience that the pedestrian can't resist experiencing. Over 10 facades have been brought back to life with historic signage, colours, awnings and architectural features. These buildings tell so much about the birth and the heyday of this City to the continued redeveloped that has become a priority for the community.
