Public events help drive positive awareness and activity to our Downtown.

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association supports multiple weekly and monthly events. The ATB Financial Downtown Market operates weekly from May to October, Ross Street Patio programming runs weekly from mid-May – September, and First Fridays at Downtown galleries occurs every month. These events bring thousands of people into Downtown Red Deer on a regular basis. Many of these people do not currently live or work in the Downtown and by supporting these events we can expose a greater portion of the community to the unique amenities in Downtown. These citizens are then more likely to visit Downtown for shopping/dining/entertainment on other occasions and are more likely to consider relocating Downtown.  An added benefit of these types of events is that they engage local merchants, artists, and entrepreneurs, helping to make these business people champions for Downtown.

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association also supports third party events and festivals through our Seal of Approval Program. Organizations can apply to the program for monetary and in kind support. Examples of previously supported events include Nuit Blanche Red Deer, Downtown Dash to Draft, Rumrunner scavenger hunt, and Art Battle.

Shopping and advertising promotions are one of the many benefits that our members get from the Red Deer Downtown Business Association. Each year we organize the North Pole Stroll shopping promotion for the Downtown. Dine Downtown is a summer promotion that focuses on a different restaurant each week for 20+ weeks.
